Excursion description:
Embarkation on the motorboat and departure from Riva Sette Martiri (45.431819, 12.350935) (5 bridges from St Mark’s Square along the shore that runs alongside St Mark’s Basin) in the direction of the island of Murano, an island famous throughout the world for its production of blown glass. This tradition jealously guarded for centuries will be revealed to you as you will have the chance to watch one of the master glassblowers at work during a glassblowing demonstration: an experience not to be missed! You will then continue on to the island of Burano, famous for its lace made with a very fine needle and thread, an almost lost art. You will also be charmed by its brightly coloured houses, a great opportunity to take some postcard photos.
Capture Burano’s most famous sights, such as the leaning bell tower and Piazza Baldassare Galuppi, named after one of Venice’s greatest 18th century composers. Enter some lace shops during this 2 hours tour of the island.
On the way back you can pass by other islands in the lagoon such as Sant’Erasmo, Certosa Island and Vignole.
Conclude the tour by returning to the starting point near St Mark’s Square.
